Sunrizer XS synth is a virtual analog synthesizer that takes the definition of iOs synthesizer to the next level.
Thanks to carefully designed architecture and heavy usage of coprocessor it blurs the boundaries between iOs and hardware synthesizers.
Sunrizer XS was built to perform and works perfectly with any MIDI keyboard or sequencer. A lot of research has been done in order to achieve unheard warmth and clarity.

HIGHLIGHTS
· True SuperSaw sound emulation, first found in the legendary Roland JP-8000 synthesizer. SuperSaw is a layered waveform consisting of multiple saw waves which are detuned to create an extremely full and epic sound. Its possible to use 2 supersaw oscillators per voice · Polyphony: 7 voices on iPhone 4, 3 voices on iPhone 3GS
· Two independent filters per voice with configurable routing. You can select between various filter types including classic resonant LP,HP,BP,Notch and less common like Comb and Formant.
· The Morph Group function lets you continuously morph of up to 30 parameters in a sound (including effects), using only the modulation wheel.
· Full support for CoreMidi, Akai SynthStation 25, MIDI mapping with learn function, Virtual Midi Ports and background audio

OSCILLATORS
· 2 warm-sounding analog modelled oscillators per voice + 2 sub-oscillators (except SuperSaw). Available waveforms: Saw, PWM pulse,Triangle, SuperSaw.
· Oscillator 2 hard-sync and configurable routing
· Osc-mix, ring modulator
· FM (true frequency modulation), PM mode for second oscillator
· White noise oscillator

FLEXIBLE MULTI FILTERS
· Two independent filters per voice with configurable routing. You can select between various filter types including: resonant LP,HP,BP,Notch, Comb and Formant.
· Configurable routing: serial or parallel with bypass option.
· ADSR envelope, keyboard tracking and full LFO control

MODULATION
· Two LFOs per voice. Its possible to assign each LFO to almost any parameter. 3 LFO running modes: trigger, 1 shot, global. 6 waveforms, phase and fade-in knobs
· The Morph Group function lets you continuously morph of up to 30 parameters in a sound (including effects), using only the modulation wheel.
· Two Modulation ADSR Envelopes for amplitude and filters cutoff
· Pitch and modulation wheels

EFFECTS
· A number of effects are built in: distortion, chorus, equalizer, stereo delay. All parameters can be modulated using mod-wheel.

ARPEGGIATOR
· Sunrizer XS incorporates very powerful programmable arpeggiator. You should think of it more like a small step sequencer.

OTHER FEATURES
· Over 200 presets, ability to share cutom banks via email
· 7 voices polyphony
· Playback modes: poly, solo, arp
· Built-in recorder supporting AudioCopy and iTunes file sharing.
· Supports CoreMidi. MIDI key velocity can affect up to 3 parameters.
· Configurable piano keyboard size
· Hold button allows you to to keep notes sustaining until you play new notes.
· With Chord Memory function you can play the chord by only pressing single keys.
· Tube soft saturation on output

Pros and cons of SunrizerXS synth app for iPhone and iPad

SunrizerXS synth app good for

Fantastic sounds and functionality. Would like to see all of the iPad options available to the iPod touch & iPhone versions. Otherwise, a great purchase!
Ive been waiting for a good free synth app for a while now. This is just amazing! Over 200 presets with lost of customization modules! Which begs the question: how did Jarosaw Jacek squeeze all that stuff into 4.3 megabytes?
Powerful beyond what you might expect. Excellent sound bank and half-decent functionality for such a compound app. Not necessarily a performance-grade tool but Ive seen professional creativity with less.
Thanks for giving it away!!! Oh yeah... Wicked cool app too tonnes of presets how in the world did you get all this into 4.3 mbs
i LOVE this app. it has become the soundtrack to my life. and Ive barely scratched the surface. now if only I could figure out how to attach my keyboard to it. all in good time... you rule jacek!
Great synth : good sounding and many functions. You can send patches to be used in your DAW with the vst version. Just hope to see all the options of the vst in the app someday...

Some bad moments

対応お願いします。 dont boot it ,i updated ios8. update plz.
Now with Audiobus support! Havent checked to see if it works, but the app still works better and has more features than its competitors. As others have said, the presets are top notch in this synth app. The sound quality is quite good. I have only scratched the surface of what this thing can do. The ability to move to other areas of the keys(keyboard) works really well. And is very smooth. The controls are easy to use, and work well. Great great job guys!!!
Ill admit it, Im cheap. When it comes to apps, I wait for them to go on sale unless its something for which I have an immediate need. Im a bassist, so Sunrizer isnt exactly at the top of my list of must have apps. But today I finally gave it a shot, and the moment I hit the first key I was reminded of my old guitar players Korg keyboard that we used on recordings. There are some GREAT sounds in this app, and with Audiobus support, you can use it with other apps in all kinds of crazy and creative ways!! Glad I spent the money. This is sure to end up on a future recording.
When changing octaves on the SS25 Sunrizer crashes. Please fix! Update: I fixed it! My SS25 was low on battery, and for some reason Sunrizer reacts to this by crashing.
This is a wonderful app, the presets sound substantial, fat, exotic. I have recorded many of the more desirable hardware synths (on the mixing desk side of things) and am astonished at how much value for money I have in my hand via this app, running on a 3GS. Well done!
I have most of the synth apps for iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch. This is one of a handful that I actually use. Ive had Sunrizer (originally Horizon) for the iPad since it came out, and bought the XS version as soon as it became available. More screen space _is_ better, especially for playing the keyboard, but the iPad doesnt fit in my coat pocket. It was a real pleasure, when work was over yesterday, to pull out my iPod and savor the rich sounds of this virtual analogue synthesizer. I asked the developer what XS stands for and he replied extra small, like with t-shirts. So far as I can tell, however, the only thing thats been compressed here is the interface, not the sound. For the iPad version, the developer worked hard to fit almost everything onto one screen. With XS, the various functions are -- of necessity -- spread over several screens, but theyre all here, including the arpeggiator. (The arpeggiator on this synth is very powerful; for tips on using it, see the four-part tutorial at http://iosmusicandyou.com.) A couple of minor bugs, to do with loading and saving custom banks, have been fixed in version 1.1, and some new features have been added: most notably, virtual Core MIDI channels (so that you can play the synth with another controller app on the same device, such as SoundPrism Pro), FM synthesis, and phase modulation synthesis. Its also easier to download new soundbanks; try "New Territory" for examples of how to use the latest versions FM synthesis feature. (The reviewer who complained about the FM "waveform" doesnt understand what hes looking at. His mistake is understandable, but its a mistake.) There is one thing that newcomers should be aware of, but its a limitation of the hardware not the software. That is: the iPod screen is too small for playing a piano-style keyboard comfortably. This is especially true for chords, where adult fingers crowd the surface. Fortunately, Sunrizer has a way to program chords so that you can play them with one finger. It is worth reading about this in the manual to learn how this works. The doublestacked keyboard that another reviewer mentioned would also be welcome, but the wider screen on the iPod and iPhone 5 does help, and the latest version takes advantage of it. There are already a lot of enthusiastic reviews for this app, but let me mention some features that seem to be overlooked. 1. Were used to the modulation wheel controlling one or two parameters at a time (usually a filter). With Sunrizer, the modulation wheel can move smoothly between a whole group of parameters (called "morph groups"): not just filter frequencies, but LFO depth and frequency, oscillator detuning -- just about anything thats a knob. For example, lets say you want to make the end of a phrase more emphatic. With the morph groups feature, you can increase the feature resonance AND widen the pad AND slow down the vibrato AND make the vibrato more intense, all with one motion. Its very easy to set up and, in performance, opens up a highway for expressiveness. 2. As of this writing (March 2013) there are now several excellent synthesizer apps for iPhone and iPad. But this one, Animoog, and Magellan have the best presets. 4. For Vangelis-style patches, be sure to download the web bank titled "CFA Vintage Electronica Virtual Analogue" by Constantin Aliferis. Sunrizer got its start emulating Roland synths, but can also do a convincing CS-80. The default "Blade Runner" patch is one of the best Ive heard on any platform.
